Haiti Biodiversity Fund

Biodiversity is strongly affected by changes in land and sea use, exploitation of natural resources, climate change, pollution and invasive species. Thus, to preserve biodiversity, conservation actions must be articulated and designed to seek co-benefits with other environmental issues, in particular those related to climate and pollution.

Preserving a country’s biodiversity is a major challenge for national actors which can be tempered by National Conservation Trust Funds such as the Fonds pour la biodiversité (FHB). The FHB provides financial mobilization and transparent use of resources for sustainable conservation activities within the nation’s protected areas and surrounding communities.
